Udumalpet hierarchi is World/Asia/India/TamilNadu/Coimbatore/Udumalpet. It is also called as Poor Man's Ooty and Textile city, connected by a metre gauge railway line. Following is the memorial hall of the famouts poet "Narayana Kavi" who belongs to udumalpet.

Udumalpet is an industrial town, since a number of textile, paper and variety of industries have been established here,Udumalpet, once popular for having spinning mills, is slowly turning into a town of windmills.Now a days the surrounding areas of the town has seen a huge rise in windmill installations across the Palghat Gap.One of the biggest poultry companies in India, Suguna Poultry Ltd, was founded in Udumalpet.

Its also having a Lots of Tourist spots.Palani Murugan Temple (35 km), Munnar (88 km), Kodaikanal (100 km) and Thirumoorthy Hills (21 km), Amaravathi Dam(), Topslip, Aaliyar (35 km). Waterfalls in Thirumoorthy hills draws quite a number of tourists.Thirumoorthy hills houses a beautiful dam which is a very famous shooting spot for Tamil movies.The temple of Lord Muruga is located on the Palani Hills.
